Merry Christmas from Our Desk To Yours!

coller industries incorporated annual employee christmas party with fun prizes and a jugglerColler Industries enjoys spoiling their employees! And we all love accepting it, especially at the annual Christmas party!

Now, don’t get us wrong. We care about our customers too. And part of that caring means that we are always giving back to our clients and our local community. But, it also means that we are regularly returning benefits to our employees and trying to make work as fun (and productive) as possible.

So, every year Coller Industries invites all the staff and their families to an annual Christmas party. This event includes lunch, games, presents and wonderful conversations! And this year, we had a special treat of local juggler Marcus Wilson.

Marcus, Funny Man Who Does Trickscoller industries incorporated annual employee christmas party with fun prizes and a juggler
(Marcus found out long ago) that as long as he was on stage people seemed to enjoy his obnoxious antics. In high school, while working at a restaurant, he learned to juggle with rolls and oranges and fell in love with useless tricks and odd skills. At the age of 22, armed with a handful of these tricks and a desire to entertain, he began doing shows. About five years later, he began performing in comedy clubs. Since then, he has been making his living performing.

As per tradition, the Red Lion Hotel in Salt Lake City hosted the Christmas party. This has been a favorite venue for our annual party for many years. The hotel had an excellent buffet of food for lunch including prime rib and salmon for the adults and macaroni and cheese with chicken fingers for the youngsters. And don’t forget the desserts: cheesecake, chocolate cake and pumpkin pie were all there!

Because, well, we just love name tags! This year all the adults received mugs with our logo on them and a name tag in the shape of either a bell or a tree ornament. Each mug had a handful of candy included. And all the kids who were there received a present chosen just for them.

As employees, we would like to give a special thank you to Coller Industries.

And especially the Coller family and our office manager, Eboni, for providing such an enjoyable activity for their employees. And here’s how we say that thank you!

3 Practical Reasons for Corporate Gifting

Corporate gifting is one of the best ways to grow and maintain your business.

using name tags for your corporate gifting this year is just as important as picking out the right wrapping and ribbonsThere are many reasons for corporate gifting that range from thanking consumers for their business to recognizing employees for outstanding work. But, the primary reason seems always to be the same. It is to sustain relationships and deepen the personal connection between the giver and the recipient.

Most companies agree that this fundamental reason is an opportunity to share your holiday cheer, connect with your clients and strengthen employee ties. Recruiting, retention and development are three other great reasons to give a corporate gift.

But here are the best three reasons to give a corporate gift!

Giving

The holidays are built on the premise of giving and volunteering in your community. No matter the reason for giving anything, you should only expect one thing back: a friendly smile, a “please” or “thank you,” or maybe even a hug. But no matter what you give, it is the thought that counts.

Wrapping

Some people just possess the talent to wrap gifts perfectly. Some don’t. But, no matter if you’re one of these wonderful people or not, everyone loves to get a wrapped present! Don’t sell your gifts short with bland packaging or by not even wrapping them. Choose bright, happy and seasonal gift wrap for your corporate gifting.

Name Tags

Last is the most important, right? Well, we sure think so! Name tags and other personal identification products are great ideas for corporate gifts. Whether it’s a new name badge for your employees or an executive desk wedge for your best customer, we’re sure to have the right gift for your needs!

Give top quality name plates to your office team this year.

Why not be unique and give everyone in the office a fun, new lanyard!

Spend the time and money on the wrapping to reflect the value of your client and employee relationships. But remember, choosing the right gift for your associates is just as important as the packaging. Add your personal flair with custom ribbons today! Need a great idea for a gift to give? Employee Appreciation Summer BBQ

Summer BBQ fun in the sun with Coller Industries!

We care about all of our customers. And part of that caring means that we give back to our local community and to all of our customers. It also means that we are constantly returning benefits to the employees and making work fun.

So, every year Coller Industries throws a summer BBQ bash that includes lunch, games and wonderful conversations!

CapturePeople are still talking about how wonderful the catering was this year! Hats off to Meier’s BBQ & Catering for our fabulous meal which included: fresh fruit (melons, grapes, kiwi, strawberries and pineapple), macaroni shrimp salad, potato salad, baked beans, orange glazed rolls, brownies and not to forget the boneless ribs and barbecue chicken!

We had a bounce house for the kids. Another treat this year was goody bags for all of the kids that came. There was a whistle, a bottle of scented bubbles, a beaded necklace, a light-up yo-yo, and some candy. Most of the kids were blowing bubbles and playing with their new toys.

As employees, we would like to give a special thank you to Coller Industries and especially the Coller family for providing such a wonderful activity for their employees. And here’s how we say that thank you!

Audra (Purchasing Agent): I usually go every year! (It’s always) good food, good people and fun for the kids.

Rod (Programmer): I went this year to enjoy good food with friends and co-workers. I enjoy their company outside of work. It is nice to meet with them and their families in a casual setting. It always nice to talk with the Coller’s about other things besides work. I saw the children having a lot of fun with the bounce house and the gift bags they were given.

Slim (Quality Control): There was a much larger turn out this year. We had lots of fun. There were more people than I have seen come to any of the summer parties in the past. I always enjoy them, so I always go. And, I almost always bring my guitar!

Donations: Granite Education Foundation

Making students a priority; from our community to you, donations create unity.

Helping out our local community is a large part of what defines the generosity of Coller Industries Incorporated. We like to highlight each company that we donate to throughout the year. Each of these donations are typically personal identification related, such as name tags or award ribbons. This donation, however, is of a different nature.

donations and giving back to the community metal name tagsGary Coller, President of Coller Industries, said, “It makes us more responsible in the community. Hopefully our customers appreciate when they see that we give (donations) to our (neighbors).”

Coller Industries also donated metal name tags for the committee members to wear during the event. These laser engraved name tags were easy to use with the magnetic fasteners.

So, what is the Excel Award?
The Granite Education Foundation recognizes and honors superior educators, true classroom heroes, the men and women responsible for molding and preparing our children to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century. These individuals have a track record of improving student achievement, using innovative instructional strategies and making a difference in the lives of students. These educators are among a select few highlighted annually as Excel Outstanding Educators who are making a difference in Granite School District classrooms.

Although thousands of nominations were submitted for the Excel Award, only 11 recipients were chosen by the Excel Committee and being recognized for their service in education.

On April 22, Coller Industries was invited by Granite Education Foundation to attend this year’s Excel Evening of Honors. This evening is a special celebration of the Excel Award Winners. This year 11 individuals were honored for their outstanding achievements as professional educators.

As Coller Industries makes generous donations each year to the foundation, we were able to attend this gala not only as distinguished guests but also as an award presenter. We were able acknowledge Lisa Foster!

“Lisa Foster, a resource teacher at Wasatch Junior High School, knows that children are not numbers or data points, but intricate human beings who deserve to be treated as such. Lisa makes her classroom a safe place for children where they are comfortable and feel they can take educational risks. She knows her students, their families, their friends and what they go through outside of school and in the hallways.”

“Mrs. Foster has helped me through a lot and is patient, funny and always willing to help.” -Student

“This is my third year presenting one of the awards. It’s such an honor to be able to recognize one of Utah’s great educators,” said Gary Coller.

customer donations coller industries and granite education foundation excel awards galaTeachers were requested to join a presenter on stage to receive their award, a $1,000 check and other generous gifts. Each Excel Award recipient received a sculpture, designed by local Utah sculptor Matt Glenn. This sculpture comes in two parts. The bottom portion has the four Granite Education Foundation hand icons from their logo. Each hand symbolized educate, give, volunteer and advocate. The top portion is a student’s hand reaching for a teacher’s hand. This piece can be removed and turned over so that the teacher’s hand is extending up toward the student’s hand.

Coller Industries Incorporated started giving donations to the Granite Education Foundation in 2009 and to day has donated over $37,000. We are happy to continue our annual support of this wonderful foundation. And as employees here at Coller Industries, it is a pleasure knowing that our employer is this generous with their time and money.
